Ingenia downsizers are hot for Hervey Bay

Sep 10, 2019

Ingenia Lifestyle’s over 50s land lease community in Hervey Bay has grabbed the attention of keen downsizers across the country with its coastal locations and promise of a better lifestyle.

Eileen Gordon is selling her home at Ingenia Lifestyle Ettalong Beach in New South Wales to move to sunny Queensland, where she has put a deposit on a new home in Ingenia Lifestyle’s Hervey Bay community.

“I visited some family in Hervey Bay last year and decided I wanted to move up there to be closer to them and have a change of scenery – it was great timing because Ingenia Lifestyle had just announced they were building a new community there,” Ms Gordon said.

Ms Gordon is one of three Ingenia Lifestyle residents who are shifting locations but staying within an Ingenia Lifestyle community.

“The past experiences I’ve had with Ingenia have always been positive – they make the process easy and clear, which is why I chose to go with them again.

Ingenia Lifestyle Project Sales Manager Anna Golden said the new community in Hervey Bay was a great opportunity for current Ingenia residents who were looking for a sea change.

“Ingenia’s unique land lease model means residents who want a sea change don’t have to worry about paying any exit fees when they move – allowing them to easily and affordably move to a new community,” Ms Golden said.

“We have residents from Ettalong Beach in New South Wales and Chambers Pines in South East Queensland who are making the move to Hervey Bay later this year.

“We are excited to have some Ingenia Lifestyle ‘veterans’ in our community to help the first-time downsizers make the most of their experience.”

Ms Gordon who originally downsized with Ingenia Lifestyle over five years ago in an effort to create a more social lifestyle for herself and embrace the benefits of living in a community with like-minded neighbours.

“It was important to me to live in a community where I can meet new people and socialise with my neighbours,” she said.

“I love living here because there are so many different people around you and there is always something to do – we often have movie nights, go on day trips and celebrate holidays together like hosting Christmas parties.

“I am looking forward to meeting new people in Hervey Bay – it is just a different way of life there to what it is here.

“I am definitely going to miss the friends I have made here, but by staying with Ingenia Lifestyle I am confident I will be able to maintain my social lifestyle and meet new like-minded people.”
